Necrophilia is a sexual attraction or an act involving corpses.
Necrophilia is a term derived from the Greek words philios (attraction to/love) and nekros (dead body) and involves the sexual attraction to a dead body. Such deviation is classified as a disease under the term paraphilia by the World Health Organization in the International Classification of Disease Manual. It is, due to circumstances, one of the rarest forms of necrophilia to identify.
They distinguish genuine necrophilia from pseudo necrophilia and classify true necrophilia into three types: necrophilic homicide, “regular” necrophilia, and necrophilic fantasy.
Homicidal Necrophiliacs (necrophilic homicide) | Sadistic murderers engage in intercourse after killing someone. |
Fantasizing necrophiliac (necrophilic fantasy) | People whose fantasy is necrophilia but never engage in intercourse or physically with a corpse. |
Genuine Necrophiliacs (“regular” necrophilia) | Persistent sexual attraction for a corpse over 6 months |
