The victim’s body was sent to Trivandrum, India, for a postmortem examination on July 5 and was returned to the Maldives once the autopsy was finalized. However, the Police are still awaiting the detailed examination report.
In connection with the case, the Police have arrested two individuals—a 17-year-old and a 27-year-old Maldivian male. At their remand hearing on June 22, the court ordered that the 27-year-old be held in jail pending trial, while the 17-year-old was remanded for 15 days.
