Male’, Maldives – A horrific crime has shaken the capital city of Male’ as a young woman was discovered dead with severe injuries inside an apartment. The tragic event occurred on the 9th floor of H. Sheereen Villa, located on Brevimagu, K. Male’.
The attack was particularly gruesome. Parts of the victim’s body were dismembered—her arms and legs were amputated, and her neck was stabbed multiple times. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that two bodybags were carried to the ambulance, confirming the brutal nature of the crime.
Victim and Suspect Identified The victim was identified as Shiau Mohamed Saeed, a 22-year-old woman from Gn. Fuvahmulah, Kuri. She was a talented musician known for sharing videos of herself singing and playing musical instruments on Instagram. Her sudden and violent death has sent shockwaves through the Maldivian community.
Shortly after the discovery of the body, Ali Shahil, a 22-year-old man from F. Nilandhoo, Finifenmaage, was arrested at the scene. Shahil, known locally as a prominent skater, was taken into custody while wearing a hazmat suit. Authorities have not yet clarified the connection between the suspect and the victim, leaving many questions unanswered.
